Chaos defense line!

"On countless worlds the earth shakes,
as the forces of chaos thrive to gain control!"

Last sunday I made a purchase for a laser cut card model of a chaos defence line. This would ofcourse fit in with my nurgle and chaos army but also as nice twisted barricades for Nuclear Rennaissance games. And I could try out painting rust on a bigger scale.

A relative new firm based in South Africa named Lasercutcard
I found them on a youtube channel where there was a discount code for 10% on a limited time. Looked decent enough so I made an order to try them out. And promtly fucked the order up! The discountcode was placed wrong. Way to go Johnny...Sigh. 9th of March I made the order. 10th of March Neal from Lasercutcard contacted me and told me I was an idiot! (Not really, he just mentioned that I made the order wrong) and he wanted to help me out. I choose to have something extra put in instead of the discount. Good communication! Thanks Neal!

He also send me a mail on the 11th to say it was on its way. On the 13th of March I recieved it, from South Africa to Denmark! Damn that is fast! I really expected about 10 days for this!!!

Flatpacked and since it was card it did not weigh much. Some may argue that mdf is better than card. I have no problems with this. I often have made terrain out of styrenefoam, cardboard, paper.... And I was amazed with the detail on this! Now the defence line also comes with a big quadgun. This has yet to be assembled.

With this chaotic mind it did not take long to dive into this project. (And gluing myself to some of the pieces) You need a sharp hobby knife to cut small tags of. Without these on they would fall of the "sprue". Not a problem at all. Though as I dropped some wound counters (to be shown later) some harsh words came from me as I had to fight of my 2 pugs that attacked me as soon as I was on ground level! PLAYTIME WEEEEE!!!  Well as said, easy to cut out the last bits and assembly went rather smoothly. All assembly instructions are online. I kinda like that. No waste in paper.

First 3 done and offcourse I wanted to see how they looked with miniatures! I think the total time in assembly was about 2 hours. But mind you.... I watch movies/listens to music, drinks tea, check facebook, look on forums while doing this. I am not the fastest so others may do this within an hour with no problems.

I am quite happy with this rust effect. Basically just black, brown and a bit of yellow dabbed around. But it looks cool! May need to highlight a bit...

Lasercutcard also have some containers and a container office. For my zombie games and Nuc ren for that matter these are REALLY on my wish list! Now you may ask why I did not get hold of them with the discount? I wanted to check out the quality first and the defence line was a great offer. But believe me when I say...They will be mine! Oh yes....They must be mine!

With the chaos defence line there is a quadgun included as well as chaos marker objectives. They will most likely get a review as soon as have painted them up. Still need to put the gun together. I highly recommend this company. Go have a look what they offer. Wound tokens and hull point damage tokens are quite cool as well. Still need to paint these before I show them of!

  2. I'm really impressed. When you first mentioned they were card (you'd think "lasercard" would have told me right away but noooooo) I thought "oh boy, they're gonna wilt as soon as he gets some paint on them" but it doesn't look as though there has been any warping at all.

    I think I want one!

    1. Dangit! Yes! I forgot to write that there has been no warping at all. It is glued with superglue. Which also made me stick to the pieces here and there. DO NOT USE PVA/the white glue.

  3. Wow, these look really good. Like "Lead Legion" above, I was initially dubious when I saw the word "card", but I'm a convert!
